In July 2015 we hosted our Stage 2 consultation events that saw the club host a Master Plan Drop in Day to exhibit the Preferred Master Plan for the new Campsie RSL.
Our Preferred Master Plan for the new Campsie RSL includes:
- an expanded club facility
- high rise residential apartments and seniors living
- specialty shops
- a medical centre
- childcare facility
- fitness centre
- basement car parking.
The development of this Master Plan was guided by our community and stakeholder engagement which provides for a quality urban design and community return.
At this Drop in Day event, the project team undertook community information sessions and exhibited the preferred club plan in order to gain further feedback and understand community attitudes to the design principles. This was the next key step in refining the design vision for the club.
verall the Stage 2 consultation sessions were successful with almost 50 people in attendance, the majority of which identified as club members and local residents.
More than 86 per cent of participants agreed that the Preferred Master Plan will make a positive contribution to the Campsie town centre. In addition, more than 74 per cent also agreed that the club should proceed with this Master Plan.
Our project team will now be take on the detailed feedback received from these Stage 2 sessions and formalise a final Master Plan for lodgement of a Planning Proposal with Canterbury City Council in the coming months.
